"OSSIFIED CLOCK" with an authentic wall clock, hand-forged brass / iron / bronze, France 1728.
It is - in accordance with surrealistic nightmares - penetrated by wooden excesses and "ossified" itself. It dissolves, cracks and becomes one with the organic form of nature.
It is fascinating that such a hand-forged clock works for almost 300 years, survived four wars. It was made before the French Revolution. It is the same that makes me impressed of singing string instruments in concerts made in the 18th century. Of course everything is restored, all gears are running, it shows the exact time and sounds very well.
Nowadays most things are digital, mass produced, nothing individual. How many of these modern machines, computers, smartphones, electronic nonsense will still work in 100 years, even only 50?
Historical wall clock in running condition with all modifications reversibel, 70 (+ pendulum and two weights hidden in the white column 140cm) x70x32cm³, I-III/2021, collection of artist
